Checking out the new Arri Alexa SXT
Had a great day today exploring the new Alexa SXT model at London's Arri HQ! Lots of great features on this new Alexa model. Here's my top 3 favourite things about it:
1. New in-camera looks: The Alexa SXT now contains a 3D Look Up Table for beautiful on-set grading, meaning that the director or client can get a real sense of what the final graded film or video will look like during the production phase.
2. Three HD-SDI outputs means that more people can have a feed from the camera on set. For example, one feed for the director or client, one feed for the DoP and one for the DIT. This makes for a much better workflow.
3. SXR drives adapted with Codex which means you can not only use Arri's SXR media but also XR, CF 2.0 & SxS cards with a simple, easy to use adaptor.
All in all I'm very impressed, and a big thank you to Arri's Product Manager, Marc Shipman-Mueller, for passing his in-depth workshop on the camera.
